The hardest thing about starting a blog is writing the first post, so here goes.
It has been a long time coming.
My interest in photography over the past few years peaked at around a time of a chance encounter with the love of my life, Ann Marie. Teaching myself and subsequently teaching her has been a journey of discovery for the two of us. Learning has brought us closer together, the artistry has forced us to think and to grow as individuals.
I have always loved to photograph people. The idea of capturing the essence of a person in still life form, understanding the individual and painting a flattering portrait with light and a camera, preserved as a historical document. Naturally I progressed and became interested in strobist photography, and this is the point from which my journey continues.
This blog is a technical diary of sorts, to document and assist with our own learning. But to freely acquire knowledge about this art is a gift. A gift worth sharing.
